Getting the data necessary to perform adequate database testing can be
a project unto itself, which unfortunately, is never factored into the QA budget. Testing the performance of a database designed to handle
250,000 records can only be done by somehow loading the database with 250,000 records and then testing it.
With that in mind, Advertising & Marketing Review has launched the development of a series of small applications designed to quickly create vast
amounts of dummy data for testing mySQL and other databases. The first in the series is a name and address generator. It can generate over a billion different names and
address combinations, before factoring in 19,000 different possible house numbers. In short, this small app can gererate more records than you
will probably ever need.
Posted below are several text files of data generated by our module. One is a three part name, and the other a name plus address, and they are available in
files containing 100, 1000, and 10,000 records.
These files are comma delimited, making them easily importable into most databases, even MS
Excel. If your database uses a different delimiter, just open the file with a text editor and use the replace all feature to set the delimiter
to what you need.

Field validation is a key part of testing any form. A field may be all capitals or all numbers or have several other restrictions or requirements. To help here are a set of strings of classes of characters that may be restricted or required by a fields validation settings.
